About Us
A professional photographer working in a photojournalistic style, Ronald Dean Henry founded BlackRapid in the fall of 2006. Seeing a need for a better method of shooting, Ron developed the R-Strap to keep his camera safe while providing fast and easy access to capture that perfect shot.
Ron’s invention allowed him to maneuver easily through a crowd without worrying about his equipment bumping into anything. With the R-Strap, the camera rested securely against Ron’s hip, leaving both of his hands free. When he needed it, he could slide the camera easily into shooting position with one hand. Click.
Gone were the days of constant fumbling with gear and wearing his camera awkwardly around his neck or over one shoulder.
