Media Makers Soirée with Pond 5 at Maggie Mae’s in Austin

Join us at the Media Makers Soirée!
Let’s break it down. BlackRapid is nothing without its fans and we love our fans. So? We’ve arranged a party where you can meet not only other professionals from a variety of creative fields, but also your fellow BlackRapid enthusiasts.
Our hosts, the great folks over at Pond 5 , have gone to great lengths in finding an Austin staple for the venue – Maggie Mae’s. There will be free Texas-style food, free beer, live music and featured DJ’s (all SXSW showcasing artists), great people, and if you *RSVP by end of day Monday (3/12) you’ll get priority access and two free bar (non-beer) drinks just for showing up.
Music Schedule:
Featuring Austin hometown-heroes and guest DJs Ramesh (from Voxtrot) and Orthy (from Learning Secrets), who will be spinning the entire night.

BlackRapid at SXSW 2012
BlackRapid hits SxSW for the first time and to celebrate we’re holding our biggest contest yet!
Presenting the first ever BlackRapid Fan Scavenger Hunt! You could win one of every *product in BlackRapid’s current line up!
Apart of our travels to SXSW is to celebrate our fans! Founder Ron Henry is leading a gang of us through the streets of Austin, ready to meet with as many photographers as we can. Plus we are co-sponsoring a party/fan meet-up at Maggie Mae’s (Tuesday March 13th @9pm) in downtown Austin and everyone is invited! There will be drinks, music, a chance to rub elbows with all sorts of professionals. More information on that soiree soon to come.
More importantly though, we want to offer an opportunity for those of you at SxSW to win! To celebrate, we’re holding our biggest contest to date! For the folks who are attending, we challenge you to take as many photos of BlackRapid as you can find. We’re talking about signage, shirts, straps, or sunglasses. Everywhere you see you an official BlackRapid logo or product take a picture and enter the contest.
And to all of you folks who aren’t able to make it so SxSW this year? Never fear! We’ll be running a contest or two online through Facebook in addition to our scavenger hunt. Stay tuned to our Facebook and Twitter feeds and we’ll keep you up to date.
The Challenge
By March 24th, 2012 use any camera/phone to create a simple gallery of photographs! Whether on Facebook, Flickr, Picasa, or your favorite gallery website to create an online gallery of all the shots you can find of BlackRapid!The more people who enter, the larger the prize!

Send an email to social@blackrapid.com with “BlackRapid Invades Austin” in the subject. Make sure you include a link to your gallery featuring the BR pics and that you use an email you don’t mind us contacting you back with! In case you were wondering, we will never add, sell, or use the information you provide in any form without your consent. So you shouldn’t expect any form of communication from us save for being contacted if you win!LET THE HUNT BEGIN!

- Contest open to individuals only, not companies or organizations.- Be kind to all the folks you photograph!
- While the gallery might not be open to the general public, BR must be able to access the gallery as of March 24th in order to be able to judge for the winner.

After the holiday season, one of the biggest things I noticed was just how distraught people were when they didn’t receive a BlackRapid strap!
