Seeing Creatively - Composition and Beyond

October 12, 2013

Join us for a seminar on Seeing Creatively: An exploration of composition and beyond with Alan Lawrence.

Taking a great photograph is more than technical skill or getting the so-called rules of composition in place.  A great photograph makes the viewer want to know more.  It makes the viewer ask questions.

The difference between a snapshot and a great photograph is having a complete understanding of composition and using it when behind the camera. We’ll explore the rules of composition and learn to “see” with a composed photograph in mind. Topics include the rules of composition and why you should break them, visualizing your shots, eliminating clutter, and how to tell stories through your photographs.
We’ll also talk about questions to ask yourself when looking at your own photographs and ways in which they can be answered. We will explore:

• The principles of composition
• Steps towards greater creativity and how to overcome a creative rut
• Questions to ask yourself when pressing the shutter
• What makes a great photo
LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED BY BLACKRAPID AS WELL AS BLACK RAPID STRAP DOOR PRIZES.

$49.  You can also pay at the door.
