Beginners Photography Workshop
April 26, 2014
One of our most requested courses is a Beginner’s Photography Class. This will be a 3-hour hands on class. By the end of the course, you will have a much better understanding of your camera and its settings. I’ll help take the mystery of all the buttons and dials on your camera. You will be on your way to creating better images and being in better control of your camera. Hosted by BlackRapid and taught by our in-house photographer, Alan Lawrence.
We’ll cover the following and more:
Understanding digital cameras and manual settings
Understanding exposure, white balance and focus
Techniques for sharper images
Controlling light and depth of field with Aperture
What is ISO
Lens choices, focal lengths, aperture settings. What all those numbers mean!
Basic camera holding techniques
How to use the various modes
Best methods for getting your images out of your camera
This workshop will give you hand’s on experience in setting up your shots while I’m there to help and answer any questions you may have. We’ll also discuss some post-production options, how to get the images out of your camera and onto your computer for sharing, etc.
A minimum of 6 students are required for the class to proceed.
No experience is necessary. The class is open to any student with a camera. DSLR, Point-and-Shoot, Mirrorless or ILC cameras are all welcomed.
A follow up Intermediate Workshop will take place in early June. Parking is available on 5th Avenue at the old Silver Platters building for $3.00 or in surrounding neighborhoods.
And, of course, we’ll be giving away BlackRapid straps and apparel.
