My name is Masedi Ranyane and I’m 18 years old born in South Africa. I’m a Cinematographer, Video Editor, and Visual Artist. My main field being Cinematography. I’ve been Filming and taking pictures for 5 years, it all started when me and my best friend (Leandro Abreu) got longboards and started filming each other skate. All I had was my phone and a selfie stick but that didn’t stop me from creating and learning. SHOOT- FIX – LEARN.

Age you took your first photo? What camera did you use? 13 years with iPhone. First Camera was a Cannon 650D
When did you realize that you wanted to be a professional photographer? 1998, I already had a scientific photography degree, but I began photographing skiers and snowboarders and mountain bikers and realised this is what I wanted to do
Who inspires you? Everybody, The athletes I photograph, photographically… Jimmy Chin, Renan Ozturk, Steve McCurry
What camera do you use to capture most of your work? Cannon 7D Mark ii
What do you do when not taking photos? I play a lot of Fortnite (Game)
One piece of advice for someone at the beginning stages of their photography career? Never let gear hold you back from telling stories, use what you have and create fire content!
How do you “Live The Moment”? Going outside and capturing the moment.
