I watched probably every YouTube video about this harness and still found it very difficult to spend $200 on a harness when there are so many others for far less money.
But when I got a call about my friend's daughter getting married in 4 days, I figured I'd try it out and if I didn't like it, I would return it. But it was raining and rain was expected the next day so I ordered it 2 day delivery on Amazon and received it 2 days later. I immediately took it out the package and adjusted it to my liking. Attaching the locking carabiners to the BlackRapid FastenRs was easy as pie, and it took a few minutes for me to figure out how to make the perfect adjustments for my size but that didn't take long either. In the mirror, I felt like those guys in old westerns with 2 pistols.
At the wedding, it took less than 15 minutes for me of use to decide I was absolutely keeping this Godsend of a harness. One great thing about this harness is that my Canon was heavy enough with the neck strap and my new Sony was even heavier, but with this harness supporting BOTH cameras, I was sold!!! The weight was not an issue, switching between the 2 cameras was the easiest thing in the world. UNBELIEVABLE!!!
The shoulder pads are very supportive, the parts that connect to the cameras and the harness are rock solid, I never for a second thought either one of my 2 heavy cameras would fall. I worked with this thing for 5 hours and my day couldn't have been any better. When eating and drinking, my cameras are at my sides so I never worried about any food or drink spilling on my gear or having to take off my cameras while I take a short food or drink break and when situations arose while I was eating, I was able to jump up and rush to the occasion without missing a beat by not having to pick up my gear and put it on first, and while heading to the area, I was lifting my camera well in advance of taking the shots. Simplicity beyond compare!!!
I reviewed a lot of other 2 camera harnesses but kept my eyes on this one and I'm extremely happy to say that I made the right choice and will never look back! Today, I only needed 1 of my cameras so I released the clip and separated the 2 parts and attached each one to each of my cameras. Even used one at a time, having your camera on your side exactly where your hand naturally rests is something you'll fall in love with as soon as you put it on and finish making the adjustments. As far as what I don't like about this harness...I'll let you know when I think of one.
If you're thinking about getting this harness, STOP THINKING! BUY IT! I guarantee you won't ever consider returning it after you use it just once. Hats off to BlackRapid for making this masterclass harness. My neck straps are a thing of the past...THEY...ARE...HISTORY!!!
