As a full time federal government contractor, I started out photographing rock concerts and writing reviews as a side gig in 2011. Within a year, I had become the house photographer at one point for all 4 major venues in the DC/VA/MD area.

Now in 2025, it’s my 14th year as a photographer and having lost my full time contracting job earlier this year, with the full support of my family, I’ve gone into photography full time. I’ve been blessed to photograph over 1100 national touring acts and performers. Favorites have been KISS, Iron Maiden, Cirque Du Soleil and Cher. Hopefully, I’m just getting started.

Tragedy at the Trilogy!

It was October 2023 and I was covering opening night of “The Trilogy Tour” with Pitbull, Enrique Iglesias and Ricky Martin. Escaping to a backstage corridor, I was getting some gear sorted and let one of my cameras fall to my side, knowing my trusty BLACKRAPID double strap harness would keep it safe and sound.

What I had forgotten, was that my strap was in my other case and I wasn’t wearing it! You can guess what happened. With three more shows to cover in the next four days, I was super grateful for an incredible insurance company that told me to go get what I needed and overnighted a check to me the next morning. Now, my BLACKRAPID straps go in the cases LAST, to that they come out and go on me FIRST!
