Massimo Vignoli over at Photography Life just published a thoughtful review of the BLACKRAPID Backpack Strap, and we’re happy with how it turned out.
Massimo is an experienced Italian wildlife and outdoor photographer. He tested the strap the way a lot of our customers actually use it — on long hikes while carrying serious gear (including a Nikon Z9 with a 600mm f/4). His main takeaway? The strap does exactly what it’s designed to do: it moves the weight of the camera off your neck and shoulders and onto the backpack’s harness and hip belt, where it belongs.
A few highlights from the review:
- Excellent weight distribution for long days in the field
- Stable with minimal swing, even with heavy telephoto setups
- Quick, smooth access when you need to raise the camera
- Lightweight (only 132g) and stays out of the way
He wrote: “There was little tension on my neck or shoulders, so it was possible to take longer hikes without the fatigue typical of traditional shoulder straps.”
And later: “Its capacity to effectively distribute weight across the backpack harness makes it especially comfortable, and even suitable for carrying heavy body/lens combinations like a Nikon Z9 with a 600mm f/4 for extended periods.”
